Triviidae
Trivia or allied cowries number around 100 species, and occur in the same areas as Cypraeidae but also there are species that inhabit colder water areas. Smaller than Cypraea, ranging in size from a few millimeters to about 30 mm, they are characterized by their egg-shaped or globular shells with thickened ridges, a narrow aperture, and a color pattern that is often white, beige, reddish, or brown, sometimes with spots on the dorsum and a whitish base.

About Triviidae
Trivia are not so colourful as cowrie shells, and less popular with colours, although their close relationship to Cowrie shells means that some cowrie shell collectors expand their interests to allied cowries such as Triviidae.
